Bringing The Bardot Home
It’s enjoyed a summer of popularity, has the ‘bardot’ style of dress/blouse – an off the shoulder number originally pioneered by the sexpot Brigitte herself – but (and I say this in the world-weary tone adopted by those when claiming long-term pre-adoption of a now rampant seasonal trend) it’s always been a favourite of mine, focusing as it does on the shoulder blades rather than the tits. The advantage, however, of the Bardot being so widespread now is that dresses with that neckline are easier to find. Hurrah! And my favourite, indubitably, is this gingham dress by Caroline Constas. Does it get anymore Riviera than a gingham Bardot?
Mais non! And surely there was no better place to shoot it that en route from Condom (yeah, I know, me too) in South West France, to Cannes, on the Cote d’Azur where I currently reside until Tuesday. A day-long sweltering road trip in our little tin can was broken up by stop-offs in tiny villages such as Fources. There isn’t even an ATM in Fources. But there was a grumpy cat and an abundance of ubiquitous pastel shutters. Parfait.comments powered by Disqus
